Dr. Michael Porter received his undergraduate and doctorate of optometry degrees from Ohio State University. He was a lieutenant in the United States Navy Medical Services Corps. He had a private optometric practice in Geneva, OH prior to moving to Statesboro.

His areas of special interest include diseases of the eye and children's vision.
